Item Details
A striking 20th Century Italian wall mirror of Murano production, dating from Circa 1970. The frame is formed from a single, substantial single cast body of aquamarine-tinted glass, hand-worked to a deeply textured, sculptural surface. The irregular modelling and undulating contours create a strong sense of movement and depth, with the pale green tone refracting light across the surface in a manner characteristic of Venetian glass of this period.
This single-piece construction distinguishes the mirror from the more commonly encountered relief-patterned or foil-backed Murano frames of the same era. The bevelled mirror plate is recessed neatly within the heavy glass surround, emphasising the thickness and clarity of the frame.
Examples with this sculptural, single cast body format appear infrequently on the market.
